Chinese Ambassador to Nepal Yu Hong hosted a reception followed by special cultural programme on the occasion of the 107th International Women Day in the capital on Thursday.
Speaker Onsari Gharti Magar and Chinese Ambassador Hong jointly inaugurated the cultural progrmme.
On the occasion, ambassador Hong said that Nepal has presented a good example to the world with women at the helm of President, Chief Justice and Speaker and representation of 30 % women in the Legislature-Parliament.
She also added that China also has adopted gender equality policy while sharing that Chinese government has been conducting several programmes in developing capacity of Nepali women on different fronts.
The Ambassador further noted that China is implementing ‘100 health programmes’ in developing countries for next five years and expressed her confidence that the existing cordial relations between Nepal and China would be further strengthened in coming days.
On the occasion, employees of the Chinese Embassy had presented Nepali and Chinese songs and dances. Present at the function were various political figures, journalists and women representing different sectors. RSS
