Three-point agreement between Nepal, India officials on Gautam's killing

Officials from Nepal and India have signed a three-point agreement to minimize the tension at two-country border after the killing of Govinda Prasad Gautam, 26, from Punarbas Municipality-8 in the district in a firing opened by border security force (SSB) of India on Thursday.
A discussion held between Akash Deep, DM from Lakhimpur Khiri district of Uttar Pradesh, India, and Manohar Prasad Khanal, Chief District Officer of Kanchanpur district took such decision.
As per the agreement, border disputes would be settled with the mapping from joint survey team at the disputed border area; investigation on the firing and compensation would be ensured to the victims’ family and the action to guilty if the Nepali national Gautam was killed by SSB’s shooting, and the border problems in the local level could be solved with the coordination of the Armed Police Force of Nepal and SSB, said CDO Khanal.
