104 metric tonnes waste collected on 200th week of Bagmati Clean-up campaign

Total 104 metric tonnes of waste was collected along the 28-km strecth of the Bagmati River from Sundarijal to Chovar in the capital on Saturday on the occasion of 200th weeks of Bagmati Clean-Up Mega Campaign.
Bagmati Clean-Up Campaigner Umesh Bohara said that more than 100,000 people had joined the campaign despite general strike and rainfall.
Some 18 secretaries of the government under the leadership of Chief Secretary Dr Somlal Subedi were mobilized in different 18 sites. Leaders of major political parties including Nepali Congress Presidnet Sher Bahadur Deuba and Deputy Prime Minister and Rastriya Prajatantra Party Chairman, Kamal Thapa, also participated in the campaign.
Next week of the clean-up campaign would take place at Pashupati Ram Temple area on coming Saturday, according to the sources of Mega Campaign. RSS
